Florida does not require that a helmet be worn by a motorcyclist / biker or an occupant of a motorcycle. Technically, a motorcycle owner is required to carry a certain amount of medical coverage to avoid a requirement to wear a helmet. This issue typically comes into play if there is a motorcycle accident and there is an attempt to apportion fault to the motorcyclist who is not wearing a helmet. Fatal Accident Reported on Interstate 95 in St. Johns County, Florida

A fatal automobile accident was reported by First Coast News on Interstate 95. The accident involved two motor vehicles in which one of the vehicles flipped several times. This, in turn, lead to the ejection of two of passengers. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene of this St. Johns county accident while the other victim was airlifted to Shands for further treatment and evaluation.
